Overview

RSL Super App - Evolving Luxury Mobility Into a Multi-Service Digital Experience

Royal Smart Limousine (RSL) is a Dubai-based luxury mobility company providing premium chauffeur and transportation services. As the business expanded beyond its core mobility offering, the digital product needed to evolve with it.

I worked on transforming RSL's existing ride-focused experience into a multi-service Super App, bringing different services into one connected ecosystem while preserving the speed and familiarity of the core booking journey. My role focused on product structure, user flows, interaction design, and UI/UX, creating a foundation that could support both existing services and future expansion.

Growing beyond ride booking

RSL's existing digital experience was primarily built around luxury ride booking. As the business expanded into additional services, the product needed to evolve from a focused mobility app into a broader multi-service platform.

The challenge was not simply adding more services. Ride booking remained the core experience customers already understood and relied on, so introducing new offerings risked making navigation more complex, increasing cognitive load and weakening the simplicity of the original journey.

The product therefore needed a structure that could support multiple services while keeping ride booking fast, familiar, and easy to access.

The Challenge

The key challenge was balancing expansion with simplicity, giving new services enough visibility without allowing them to compete with or disrupt RSL's core mobility experience.

Key Areas of Focus

Service Discovery - Navigation - Information Architecture - Booking Efficiency - Scalability

Expanding around the core, rather than replacing it

Once the expansion challenge was clear, the key question became where the new services should sit within the existing experience.

Rather than redesigning the product around its growing service catalogue, I used the established ride-booking journey as the anchor. New services would be introduced around this core experience, giving them clear entry points without forcing returning customers through a completely different interaction model.

This established three principles for the product direction:

Preserve the core journey
Ride booking would remain immediately accessible and continue behaving as users expected.

Give every service a clear entry point
New offerings would be independently discoverable from the home experience rather than buried inside increasingly complex navigation.

Design for continued expansion
The experience needed to accommodate future services without requiring the home screen or core navigation to be restructured each time the business grew.

The Direction

Keep the core familiar. Make new services visible. Let the ecosystem expand around it.

Structuring the Super App

Creating a modular framework that could grow with the business

With the product direction established, I translated it into a modular framework that could support RSL’s expanding service offering while keeping the existing ride experience intact.

The home experience became the shared entry point for the wider ecosystem, giving services such as flights, hotels, visas, activities, staycations and investment direct and independent access. Instead of introducing additional navigation layers, each service could be discovered directly and develop its own journey within the wider product.

This modular approach allowed individual services to evolve independently while sharing a consistent UX framework. As RSL introduced new offerings, they could be integrated into the ecosystem without restructuring the core ride-booking experience or fundamentally changing how existing users interacted with the product.

Design Principle

One ecosystem. Independent services. A familiar core.

Key UX Decisions

Turning the product architecture into clear interaction decisions

With the modular framework established, I focused on how users would actually experience the expanded product.

These decisions translated the product architecture into an experience that could support more capability without making everyday interactions more complicated.

Final UI

From Ride-Focused to Multi-Service

The final home experience brings RSL’s expanded offering into a single interface, giving users a clear view of what the platform now provides.

The before-and-after comparison shows how the home evolved visually and functionally as RSL moved beyond its original ride-focused experience.

Beyond ride booking, the platform was designed to support additional premium services such as travel, activities, and investment. Each service follows the same underlying UX patterns and visual language, allowing users to explore new offerings without relearning the interface.

Supporting Screens

Supporting screens such as bookings, account management, and history were designed to be clear and reliable, reinforcing trust and usability beyond the initial booking experience.

Outcomes & Impact

A digital foundation for RSL’s next stage of growth

The project established a product foundation that aligned RSL’s digital experience with the company’s broader business direction, moving the platform beyond a single-service proposition.

Key Outcomes

Expanded product capability
Created the foundation for RSL to bring its wider portfolio of services into the digital experience.

Greater flexibility for growth
Established a framework that could accommodate new and evolving offerings as the business expanded.

Stronger product consistency
Created a shared experience across different service journeys rather than treating each offering as a separate digital product.

Clearer expression of the RSL offering
The product now represented the broader scope of the business, rather than positioning RSL primarily around transportation.
